Premiere: Supect Parts new single and video "You Know I Can't Say No"

Cover art: Snake Davis.
SUSPECT PARTS are the perfect example that POP, as written in CAPITAL letters, can be a weapon of massive destruction as powerful as any other. The fact is, on most occasions melody is greatly underestimated. However, as this single proves, nothing can be more convincing and potent than melody. This is something that has already been proven by some of our all time favorite bands like Big Star and Dwight Twilley in the 70s, but in the specific case of Suspect Parts the term POWER in the genre Power-Pop is personified in its most visceral and energetic sense. They have already shown us a taste of uniquely powerful melodies with their handful of singles, crowned by a terrific eponymous album released in 2017 by the Munich-based label Taken By Surprise and Atlanta's Ooops Baby Records. Here they coined their own categorical and resounding genre, “Apocalypse Pop”. As the Parts darkly daydream in their bio, submerging themselves in a Mad Maxian universe, "When oil runs out a major line is going to be drawn. Which side are you on? Which tribe are you willing to die for? Pop's chosen warriors will rule the apocalypse."

This quartet of usual suspects are gentlemen of a fiercely wild reputation. These guys play in bands like Clorox Girls, Maniac, The Briefs, More Kicks, Radio Dead Ones or Red Dons. The lads repeat their inhuman POP feat with their new single, yes, dear reader, the very one that we're premiering today. Here they manage even more immediate and catchy tunes, keeping the edges of their riffs always dangerously sharp. They have created a brand of power-pop-punk that is colored and imbued both by the sunny edges of 60's Californian protopunk-garage and the effluviums of the "British Invasion" while keeping the vibes of bubblegum Los Angeles bands like The Turtles or The Monkees, as well as our favourite mid 70s melodic punk from the other side of the Atlantic.

This new single includes three fantastically splendid tracks, from the first of which we are also sharing with you a curious and amusing video recorded in one square meter, for their irresistible instant-hit first cut, "You Know I Can't Say No”. From the very first listen, we knew this song was going to become part of the soundtrack of our lives. This song titles this brand new 7" that has been released today in the US by Portland's Dirt Cult Records and in Europe by German label Wanda Records. They recorded in Kaulsdorf, east Berlin with Smail Shock, founding member of the mythical Berlin punk band The Shocks. On the B-side is “Song For Sadie”, a sweet and magnificent cut built on wonderful slices of punk blended with a bit of beach sand roughness and an irresistibly catchy chorus. The single is rounded out with a bit of martial law with "Hundsgemein", which hurtles itself at an unsuspecting listener with guttural cannibalistic German. Yet, the song achieves the opposite of what we expect, which is that we finally learn some words in this harsh language, because “Hundsgemein” is a powerful hymn impossible not to sing along with. We can’t wait to chant along to its chorus during some live gigs. We hope a Spanish tour is in the works.

This record comes both in the usual format and in super limited editions in bone-white vinyl, or on black vinyl with screen printed covers, and even ten test pressings directly from Wanda Records. You can order this essential 7" through the following links:
